The School of Computing, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchirappalli, successfully organized a two-day offline Faculty Professional Learning Session on “ Enhancing Teaching and Learning with Apple iPad ” on 22nd & 23rd December 2025 . The session was expertly facilitated by Mr. Akshay Ramakrishna, Apple Teacher and APLS Trainer from Bengaluru , who shared industry-aligned best practices and pedagogical insights for effectively integrating Apple technologies into higher education. Session Focus: Introduction to iPad The program enabled educators to explore iPad and iPadOS as transformative educational tools—empowering faculty to design engaging learning experiences, streamline academic workflows, and enhance student interaction. Participation & Collaboration Around 30 faculty members from the School of Computing, School of Electrical & Electronics, and School of Sciences actively participated, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and shared learning. Hands-on Learning Highlights Participants gained practical exposure to core Apple applications such as Pages, Keynote, and Freeform, understanding their role in: Content creation Collaboration and communication Assessment strategies Blended and technology-enabled learning Innovative & Interactive Pedagogy The session emphasized creative teaching methodologies through: ✔ App-based instructional workflows ✔ Impactful presentation design using Keynote ✔ Introduction to Augmented Reality tools like JigSpace and TinkerCAD to enhance conceptual clarity and student engagement Through guided demonstrations and hands-on activities, faculty members learned to align technology integration with learning objectives and outcomes, strengthening learner-centered and outcome-based education practices. The SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchirappalli Campus successfully hosted an intensive 42-hour Cyber Security Certification Program in association with ICT Academy, under the CSR initiative of the IBM Foundation in December 2025. 62 final-year B .Tech students from CSE, AI & ML, and Cyber Security actively participated and successfully completed the program. The course delivered hands-on, industry-aligned training, equipping students with practical cyber security skills, real-world exposure, and insights into current threats, best practices, and emerging challenges. Sessions were led by experienced industry resource persons, ensuring a strong bridge between academia and industry. Thiruvalluvar Tamil Mandram celebrated Bharathiyar Birthday Celebration-2025 on 11th December 2025 at 513 seminar hall . At the beginning of the event, Faculty members and students paid floral tributes to the portrait of Mahakavi Bharathiyar and honored his legacy. Under the theme “Poet’s Vision: Visual Presentation,” several short films depicting the ideas and poetic philosophy of Bharathiyar were screened. The event was compiled and presented by the student executive committee members of the Thiruvalluvar Tamil Association. The program was coordinated by Dr. N. Anita, Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil. Thus, the celebration concluded successfully on a pleasant note.
