Voters Day Pledge

The National Service Scheme (NSS) of Faculty of Science & Humanities, SRM Institute of Science & Technology (SRMIST), Tiruchirappalli, organized a Voters' Day Pledge in the campus on January 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.


The event aimed to educate students and faculty about the importance of voting and encourage them to participate in the electoral process.


Key Highlights:


- Dr. D.Francis Xavier Christopher, Dean FSH, emphasized the significance of voting and its impact on the country's future.


- Dr. M Suresh, NSS Program Officer and the Team of NSS organized the program.


- 140+ students along with 20+ Staff took the pledge on Voting.


- The event was part of the NSS unit's efforts to promote civic engagement and community service 


Importance of Voting communicated during the event:


- Voting is a fundamental right and a crucial aspect of democracy.


- It allows citizens to participate in the decision-making process and shape the country's future.


- Encourages responsible citizenship and community involvement 


The program aligns with the National Voters' Day theme, My India, My Vote, and the Election Commission of India's efforts to promote voter education and participation
