Faculty Professional Learning Session | Enhancing Teaching & Learning with Apple iPad

The School of Computing, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchirappalli, successfully organized a two-day offline Faculty Professional Learning Session on “Enhancing Teaching and Learning with Apple iPad” on 22nd & 23rd December 2025.
The session was expertly
facilitated by Mr. Akshay Ramakrishna, Apple Teacher and APLS Trainer from Bengaluru, who shared industry-aligned best practices and pedagogical insights for effectively integrating Apple technologies into higher education.

Session Focus: Introduction to iPad
The program enabled educators to explore iPad and iPadOS as transformative educational tools—empowering faculty to design engaging learning experiences, streamline academic workflows, and enhance student interaction.
Participation & Collaboration
Around 30 faculty members from the School of Computing, School of Electrical & Electronics, and School of Sciences actively participated, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and shared learning.
Hands-on Learning Highlights
Participants gained practical exposure to core Apple applications such as Pages, Keynote, and Freeform, understanding their role in:
Content creation
Collaboration and communication
Assessment strategies
Blended and technology-enabled learning
Innovative & Interactive Pedagogy
The session emphasized creative teaching methodologies through:

✔ Impactful presentation design using Keynote
✔ Introduction to Augmented Reality tools like JigSpace and TinkerCAD to enhance conceptual clarity and student engagement


Through guided demonstrations and hands-on activities, faculty members learned to align technology integration with learning objectives and outcomes, strengthening learner-centered and outcome-based education practices.
