The Faculty of Engineering & Technology, SRMIST, Trichy conducted an awareness Programme on “Road Safety" for all the students of first year Engineering & Technology at Trichy SRM Auditorium on 19-12-2022 at 2.00 PM. The resource person Prof. T. Venkatesan, Director, Fifth Wheel Drive, Trichy, explained about the basic rules of road safety. The students are advised to avoid distractions while driving, obey traffic signals like stop signs, red lights, wear seatbelts/helmets, and maintain the speed limit & safe distance. He also explained about crossing zerbra cross, Keeping to the Left, Slow Down at Intersections, Turn Signals and Hand Gestures, Avoid Use of Mobile Phones, Respect Speed Limits and Do Not Swerve Between Lanes. Dr. R. Balasundaram ,Associate Dean, proposed a vote of Thanks.
