Programs Offered
The College of Occupational Therapy at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchirappalli Campus offers comprehensive academic programs aimed at developing skilled clinicians, researchers, and innovators in rehabilitation sciences. The Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) is a 5-year program consisting of 4 years of academic training followed by 1 year of compulsory rotatory internship, providing extensive clinical exposure across major rehabilitation specialties. The Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) is a 2-year postgraduate program offering advanced specialization in Neurosciences, Paediatrics & Neonatology, Musculoskeletal Sciences (Orthopaedics), Hand Therapy, Rehabilitation Sciences, Oncological Sciences, Geriatrics, Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Sciences, and Mental Health. The college also offers a Ph.D. in Occupational Therapy, a doctoral research program (3–6 years) that promotes advanced research, innovation, and academic leadership in occupational therapy. Students are encouraged to develop innovative assistive devices, file patents, publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals, contribute book chapters, and participate in funded research projects, fostering a strong culture of scientific inquiry and translational rehabilitation research.
