Poster Making Competition – World Suicide Prevention Day The Wellness Club and Culinary Club of the Faculty of Science and Humanities successfully organized a “Poster Making Competition” in observance of World Suicide Prevention Day. The event aimed to raise awareness about mental health, inspire hope through action, and encourage positive mental well-being among students. This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well- Being), which emphasizes ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all. Students from various departments of the Faculty of Science and Humanities actively participated in the competition. Multiple teams from different programs showcased their creativity and understanding of the theme through impactful and original poster creations. Participants followed the competition rules regarding poster size, word limit, and content originality.

The Women Empowerment Cell, in collaboration with the Faculty of Science and Humanities, organized a Health & Wellness Initiatives Session on Women’s Health to create awareness among girl students about preventive healthcare and lifestyle practices. Highlights of the Session Adequate Sleep – The resource person emphasized the need for at least 7 hours of quality sleep to maintain physical and mental well-being Balanced Diet & Exercise – The session highlighted the importance of following a nutritious diet along with regular physical activity to strengthen immunity and prevent lifestyle-related diseases. Cervical & Breast Cancer Awareness – Students were sensitized about the importance of early detection and screening for cervical and breast cancer, which can save lives through timely intervention. Menstrual Hygiene Practices – Proper menstrual hygiene was stressed as a key factor in ensuring better reproductive health and preventing infections. HPV Vaccination – The necessity of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination was discussed, recommending three doses for girls aged 9–14 years. The vaccine, now available in India, was highlighted as an effective preventive measure against cervical cancer and other HPV-related diseases. Regular Health Check-ups & Stress Management – Students were encouraged to adopt routine health check-ups and practice stress management techniques like yoga, meditation, and relaxation exercises to maintain a balanced lifestyle. Outcome The session created awareness among the participants about the importance of preventive healthcare, reproductive health, and healthy lifestyle choices. It also motivated them to take proactive measures towards their personal well-being. 

The Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchirappalli Campus, successfully hosted the Alumni Talk on Campus to Corporate –Series 3 on August 23, 2025. The event was conducted online via WebEx, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and featured Mr. Arunan, Relationship Manager at City Union Bank, Chennai, as the guest speaker Highlights The session was attended by a significant number of students and faculty members, who actively participated in the Q&A session. Mr. Arunan shared his valuable experiences and insights on transitioning from campus to corporate life, highlighting the importance of developing technical and interpersonal skills. The talk focused on sharpening skills for success, handling diverse customer needs, and adapting to rapid technological changes in the industry.

The IoT INNOVATE – 2025 workshop, held on 7th and 8th August 2025 at SRMIST Tiruchirappalli, provided students with hands-on experience in the Internet of Things (IoT). Organized by the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science and Humanities, the event covered key topics like smart connectivity, embedded systems, and sustainable IoT solutions. Dr. Jehan Murugadhas, Professor at the University of Technology & Applied Sciences, Oman, delivered an insightful keynote address. Participants engaged in setting up IoT devices, exploring cloud integration, and collaborating on real-world problem-solving challenges. The workshop featured expert talks, DIY projects, and hackathons, fostering innovation. The event concluded with certificate distribution and networking opportunities. IoT INNOVATE – 2025 empowered students to develop skills for the future of connected, sustainable technologies.
