The SRM Institute of Hotel Management Tiruchirappalli, organized an insightful session titled “Building a Career Roadmap – From College to Corporate” on 13th November 2025 at the SRM IHM campus. The event aimed to guide students in understanding industry expectations and preparing effectively for their transition from academic life to the professional world. The distinguished guest speaker for the session was Mr. Deeptiman Bhattacharya, Manager – Learning and Development, TajSATS Air Catering Limited, Mumbai, who shared his valuable insights on career planning, interview preparedness, and professional growth in the hospitality industry. The event was formally approved and inaugurated under the guidance of Dr. Santanu Dasgupta, Principal, SRM IHM Trichy. The session commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. Ragulkannan, Assistant Professor, followed by an engaging presentation by the guest speaker. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Prince Antony J, Vice-Principal, SRM IHM Trichy. The event was a great success, providing students with meaningful exposure to industry standards and practical knowledge on how to face interviews and shape their career paths effectively.

The Faculty of Science and Humanities, Institute of Hotel Management, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchirappalli, organized an awareness program titled “Educating for Equality – Building Inclusive Work Culture” on 6th November 2025 at 10.00 a.m. at SRM IHM, Trichy. The event aimed to promote Gender Equality (SDG 5) and emphasize the importance of inclusiveness and equal opportunities in professional environments. The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. A. M. Shahitha, Event Coordinator, who highlighted the relevance of equality and inclusivity in today’s evolving workspaces. The Keynote Address was delivered by Dr. Santanu Dasgupta, Principal, Institute of Hotel Management, who shared valuable insights on the importance of equality and respect in building a positive and productive work culture. The Resource Person, Dr. A. Sundhararajan, Principal, Allied Health Sciences, Trichy SRM Medical College Hospital Research Centre, delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking session on the theme, emphasizing the need for awareness, empathy, and active participation in creating inclusive workplaces where everyone feels valued and empowered. The session was informative and engaging, offering meaningful takeaways for the participants. The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. J. Prince Antony, Vice Principal, Institute of Hotel Management, who expressed gratitude to the management, resource person, faculty members, and students for their active participation and support. Students from III B.Sc. and II DHMCs actively took part in the program and gained valuable insights on fostering gender equality and inclusivity in their future professional endeavours.

A workshop on Flower Arrangement was organized by the Institute of Hotel Management, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchirappalli at TRP Block 2. The session was coordinated and convened by Mr. S. Vijayaganesh, Assistant Professor, IHM Department. The workshop was attended by Hotel Management students, who actively participated and learned various techniques of floral design and decoration, enhancing their creativity and presentation skills
