The Department of Hotel Management, Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), organized a special session on “Therapeutic Diet and Hospitality Treatment Program” on 24th October 2025 at the Seminar Hall, Room No. 513. The session was conducted by the Department of Hotel Management to provide students with valuable insights into the importance of therapeutic diets and their application in the hospitality and healthcare sectors. The resource person, Ms. M. Parameshwari, Senior Dietician, Trichy SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, shared her expertise on various types of therapeutic diets, nutritional requirements for patients, and the coordination between dietetics and hospitality professionals in hospital food service management. The program helped students understand the significance of nutrition-based menu planning and the role of hospitality management in healthcare institutions.
The event was coordinated by Mr. S. Vijayaganesh, Assistant Professor, Department of Hotel Management. The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer round, followed by a vote of thanks. Overall, the program was highly informative and beneficial for the students, enhancing their knowledge of therapeutic diet practices within the hospitality industry.
