Health & Wellness Initiatives Session on Women’s Health


The Women Empowerment Cell, in collaboration with the Faculty of Science and Humanities, organized a Health & Wellness Initiatives Session on Women’s Health to create awareness among girl students about preventive healthcare and lifestyle practices.
Highlights of the Session
- Adequate Sleep – The resource person emphasized the need for at least 7 hours of quality sleep to maintain physical and mental well-being
- Balanced Diet & Exercise – The session highlighted the importance of following a nutritious diet along with regular physical activity to strengthen immunity and prevent lifestyle-related diseases.
- Cervical & Breast Cancer Awareness – Students were sensitized about the importance of early detection and screening for cervical and breast cancer, which can save lives through timely intervention.
- Menstrual Hygiene Practices – Proper menstrual hygiene was stressed as a key factor in ensuring better reproductive health and preventing infections.
- HPV Vaccination – The necessity of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination was discussed, recommending three doses for girls aged 9–14 years. The vaccine, now available in India, was highlighted as an effective preventive measure against cervical cancer and other HPV-related diseases.
- Regular Health Check-ups & Stress Management – Students were encouraged to adopt routine health check-ups and practice stress management techniques like yoga, meditation, and relaxation exercises to maintain a balanced lifestyle.
Outcome
The session created awareness among the participants about the importance of preventive healthcare, reproductive health, and healthy lifestyle choices. It also motivated them to take proactive measures towards their personal well-being.
