A 21-day International Faculty Development Program on Data Science Tools

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchirapalli Campus is conducting a 21-day Online International Faculty Development Program on Data Science Tools from July 12th 2023 to 1st August 2023. The inaugural ceremony, followed by Day-1 session was held on 12.07.2023 at 6.45 pm. The chief guest Dr. Prof. Jai Ragunathan, Assistant Head, School of Ocean Technology Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Around 550 participants across the country attended the program. The Chief Guest discussed about the usage of Machine Learning algorithms for Data Science applications.

Earlier, Dr. S. Kanaga Suba Raja, HOD /CSE welcomed the gathering and discussed about various job opportunities to be available for data science professionals in India in 2025. The Chief Director, Dr. N. Sethuraman presided over the function and talked about how Data Science plays a vital role in facilitating every organization for taking business decisions, planning, future forecasting, etc. The Director, Dr. N. Malmurugan delivered a special address and talked about the importance of Big Data Analytics. He also explained about various popular tools for data analytics. The Dean (E&T), Dr. Jagadeesh Kannan delivered the felicitation address and highlighted the top research areas in data science.

The Day-1 session was on the topic “Foundational Mathematics for ML and Data Science” by Prof. Dr. Jakkepalli Pavan Kumar, Department of CSE, NIT, Trichy. The session was very informative and interactive.  The Day-1 session was concluded with a vote of thanks, proposed by Dr. R. Balaji Ganesh, Assistant Professor / CSE.

The Department of Business Administration successfully organized a one-day International Conference on "Next-Gen Business Management and E-Commerce Revolution" on March 26, 2025 . The conference attracted significant participation, with 166 participants in attendance, of which 105 participants presented their research articles. The event provided a platform for industry experts, academicians, and researchers to exchange insights on the latest trends and innovations shaping business and e-commerce. Digital innovation, including cashless payments and cryptocurrencies, is reshaping financial systems and business models. AI-driven e-commerce and omni-channel banking services are creating more personalized and seamless customer experiences. Globalization and evolving consumer expectations are driving businesses to adopt advanced technologies and data-driven strategies. Financial inclusion and technological advancements are key to sustaining competitive advantages in the modern business landscape. The conference received positive feedback from participants, who appreciated the depth of knowledge shared and the relevance of the topics discussed. The event successfully fostered meaningful discussions on the future of business and e-commerce, equipping participants with valuable insights to navigate the evolving business environment.
