AR-VR Technology

SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, School of Computing is organizing a5-day In-Campus Training Programme on AR-VR Technology from 13th August 2024 to 17th August 2024 at Centre for Immersive Technologies. The event was chaired by Dr. R. Jagadeesh Kannan, Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, SRMIST Trichy and co-chaired by Dr. R. Balaji Ganesh, Head-AIML, SRMIST Trichy.



First day of AR-VR training module covered the fundamentals of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). The trainer introduced the basics of AR and VR, laying a solid foundation for the session. The focus then shifted to Unity software, a popular game engine used for AR/VR development. Participants learned the basics of Unity and its applications in AR/VR. By the end, the trainer guided the group in creating a basic game using Unity, hands-on experience that reinforced the day's learning.
